Ingredients

  • Bengal gram dal=2 cups
  • Raw rice=1/2 cup
  • Chopped ginger=4tbsp
  • Chopped green chilly=2 tbsp
  • Chopped onions=200 gms
  • Chopped coriander leaves= 2 tbsp
  • Asafetida=a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Preparation method

  1. Soak Bengal gram & rice together and grind it coarsely (Note: Don't grind it to a paste)
  2. Mix all the ingredients into the batter , except oil , and shape into medium sized balls
  3. Heat oil , press the balls to a flat shape and fry it as vadas
