Ingredients

  • Chicken- 1kg
  • Curry Leaves - 2 sprigs
  •  Onions- 2 (Finely chopped)
  • Tomatoes-2 (Finely chopped)
  • Oil-2Tbsp
  • Water-2 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander Leaves finely chopped for garnishing 
To Grind
  • Shallots-8
  • Black pepper corns-1/2 tsp
  • Poppy seeds-2tsp
  • dry red chillies-8
  • Grated coconut-6 Tbsp
  • Coriander Seeds, Cumin and Fennel seeds-1 Tsp
  • Cinnamon-1
  • Clove-1
  • Ginger and Garlic paste-2 Tsp
 

Preparation method

  1. Roast all the Ingredients given under 'to grind' in a little oil except ginger and garlic paste 
  2. Allow them to cool and make a paste along with ginger and garlic
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chopped onions till golden brown
  4. Add Curry Leaves and the Ground paste and fry till the paste turns slightly brown
  5. Add Chopped Tomatoes and fry till the oil leaves the sides
  6.  Now add the chicken pieces and fry for sometime
  7. Add Salt and Water and Mix well
  8.  Cover and cook till the chicken is soft
  9.  Garnish it with Coriander Leaves
